The Christmas Sundays

The Christmas Sundays - a little celebration

The Christmas Sundays (Ziemassvētku Svētdienis) is a little celebration that will take place for four Sundays.

While the whole world is slowly starting to prepare to the winter’s most anticipated celebration, this is your chance to start it early – in the centre of the city, in an inspiring atmosphere and going on for an entire month. Concerts and plays for your spirit, games and workshops, food and mulled wine for your belly, Christmas fair – for gifts and joy. In cooperation with Rimi and Children’s Hospital Foundation every Sunday the Good Deed Stop will offer everyone to take part in a charity campaign “Angels over Latvia” that will bring the most important gift to many children and their parents – a chance for health and happiness.

Every Sunday will offer plays and concerts, and workshops and activities for both children and adults. On 22 December, the family programme is offering two plays: “Brigadere kubā” based on three fairy-tales by Anna Brigadere, and “Trīs stāsti” based on the stories from book “Beautiful animal” by Estonian writer Andrus Kivirehk, while in the evening, having applied in advance, one will be able to attend the Christmas concert of the year’s most heart-warming charity campaign “Engels Over Latvia”.

Christmas Sundays are open from 11.00 till 20.00. Entrance is free the whole day.

Even if you come alone, you will not feel lonely here. Because there is peace on earth and good mood on Sundays.

The Sundays are organised by venue for events and culture Hanzas Perons in cooperation with the festival “Piena svētki”.

SUNDAYS on 8 Dec, 15 Dec, 22 Dec and 29 Dec.
