On 11 October band “Sudden Lights” have released their second studio album “Vislabāk ir tur, kur manis nav” (The Best Place Is Where I Am Not) and are now welcoming to the concerts of their tour, where they will play songs both from the new album and their first studio album “Priekšpilsētas” (Suburbs).
The new album continues what the band had started in their first album, developing and perfecting their signature sound, at new musical quality, experimenting with the forms of songs and variety of musical pieces. The album was created when the group was at their creative camp in summer 2018 and recorded in several sessions in spring 2019 at TSP Music studio with the producer Jānis Aišpurs.
Lead singer of the band Andrejs Reinis Zitmanis says the new album’s name is about the feeling that never leaves one’s mind, a feeling that life is happening somewhere else. This album is a challenge to leave all the unnecessary behind and run away from the urban noise, and to live a moment for yourself, your own pleasure.
In February 2020 the band will star their new album’s concert tour across Latvia, marking the places on the map, where the families of the band’s musicians come from. The tour grand finale will take place in Riga, at Hanzas Perons, with lots of musical surprises.
There have been two years since the band released their first album; these years have been significant in the band’s development and have left a mark in the history of Latvian music. The group has been playing all across Latvia, while in February 2018 their song “Just Fine” was the runner-up in the national TV show “Supernova” and became the most streamed song of the month in Latvia. In summer 2018, Sudden Lights performed in front of thousands of people warming them up at Brainstorm tour “Skārda bungu tūre”.
